His phobia forgotten, Jasper weaved his way through the crowd to where the young lady sat, glancing about in search of a companion or chaperone who might introduce them.
“Hello,” she said, coming to her feet in a graceful move that segued into a deep curtsy. Her gown, a column of white silk de Naples embroidered with white silk threads, had obviously been made by one of the best modistes in London. The fact that it was white suggested she was unmarried.
“Hullo,” Jasper managed as he gave a bow. He dared a glance to his left and then to his right. “Pardon me, but I... it looks as if your companion, or chaperone—”
“Aunt,” she interrupted with a sly grin.
“Has gone missing,” he continued, worry evident in his voice. How could such a delectable creature be left alone among the palm trees at the back of Lord Attenborough’s ballroom?
“She’s dancing with Lord Devonville.”
One of Jasper’s eyebrows cocked up. “Ah. Poor thing,” he murmured, not intending for her to actually hear the comment. Her brilliant smile had him a bit mortified when he realized she had heard. Besides the dimple that appeared in her left cheek, her porcelain skin bloomed with a pretty shade of pink while her bright blue eyes focused on him to the point he realized she could see, although perhaps not well. “Oh, pardon me. I didn’t mean it like that,” he said with a shake of his head.
“Oh, I won’t tell him. I promise,” she countered, her face still displaying an expression of delight.
Jasper blinked. “You know him well enough to tell him should you wish to?” he wondered aloud, daring a glance at the dancers who were still performing the cotillion. They would continue to do so for at least another fifteen minutes.
The young lady nodded. “Devonville is my uncle.”

When you've pissed off Mother Nature, anything can happen...

Willow's Cry

Alex is just a regular guy… who can hear the wind speak and the earth talk, not a bad thing for a Park Ranger if a bit unusual. His life is everything he desires. Until Mother Nature expresses her displeasure at his family’s threat to sell the land they had been charged to protect. Alex is left to try to stop the sale, finding a damsel in distress along the way who wraps herself around his heart.

Happy living in her tree, observing the world without joining in, Willow has yearned for Alex for years. Too shy to emerge, the little nymph is suddenly catapulted into Alex’s arms, her tree destroyed during a massive storm.

Mother Nature has a plan and she’ll do everything she can to force Alex’s family to continue their roles as guardians, even if it means sacrificing one she protects.

“Thanks. Where are you heading?” Doc settled back in her seat, putting her crutches next to her with a sigh.
“I’m heading home for Christmas. Wisconsin. What about you?” Nick moved to get out of the aisle. He was in the row behind her. Nick stood leaning over his seat to continue their conversation. Nick blinked, his attention captured as he looked down. Doc was wearing a very pretty, low cut sweater. From this angle he had a perfect view of her red lacy bra and the curvy flesh it hugged. Nick reached down and quickly adjusted himself. He’d been at attention since he hugged her.
“I needed a break. I’m visiting Chicago, heading to see a VA doctor there about a new prosthetic, before I go back home.”
“Home being where?”
“San Diego.” Doc looked up at him and glared when she saw where his gaze was. “What do you think you are doing?” She snapped her fingers in front of his nose, breaking his line of sight. Nick grinned unabashedly at her.

“Admiring the view.”

I'm going to try out a widget that gives daily quotes. Let's see if I can get it to work!

Did you want your own tiny house? Buying a house from Amazon.

I'm writing again, but it usually happens only one day a week. Unless I take a vacation day and ignore everything around me that needs doing. Which I'm trying to do!

So odd ball stuff. Did you know if you have $15,000 you can buy a tiny home from Amazon, built from a container, and have it delivered?

I'm not lying! Check it out.

It's pretty basic, but heck, that is less than two years rent if you're paying $700 a month! If, of course, you have that much cash just laying around!

So, this is what I'm doing instead of writing, lol. But I'm getting off now to put pen to paper so to speak. Ciao!

Dead Men Tell No Tales

I've been in a bit of a slump. I'm stuck on my dragon story, Finding Faith. I'm stuck on my erotic short, Triple D: Enticed by the Cowboy. So... I went into my manuscript file to see what caught my eye. I settled on a bit called 'the old lady'. LOL. I think I should call it, 'I'm not old, dammit!' I read it, laughed and started writing again. From the story line so far, I must have been pissed at my husband. I killed him off! 28 years of marriage and being a writer will do that I guess.
Better than arsenic or a bat when he's sleeping or any of the real ways to bump him off!

So, I'm not sure where this will lead. A middle aged... cough cough... romance probably. Dead husbands, meddling family, even if they mean well, and who knows? maybe a ghost! No clue where it's headed, but at least I'm writing again! I moved my desk up into a corner in the bedroom. Writing in the dining room wasn't working with my daughter and granddaughter now living with us. But wrapped in pajamas and finally comfortable and able to reach my computer even in the middle of the night to write will do wonders! I write when I'm happy I guess, and comfortable.

Since my husband helped me get my desk situated, I wouldn't bump him off now, but since I already did...  :) I'm going with it! If I look, I probably have more bits like that. I have a temper and he sets it off without even meaning to poor guy! So I put it down in words and let it go. We don't fight a lot, just snipe at each other for a bit and settle back down. When I hear my mother coming out of my mouth, I shut up, LOL.

So, catch up on some of my books, I will be putting something out still this year, though my schedule was railroaded with the girls moving back home. I'm too close to the end on at least three books to not get at least one out. So your guess is as good as mine which one it will be!

Here is the victim of my paper crime, lol. Pirate day at Red Lobster.

So, if you are in West Bend WI on Sept. 23rd visit me!

Threshold’s Showcase of Authors IV being held on Saturday, September 23rd at the Lawrence and Vivian Stockhausen center, 2380 West Washington Street, West Bend, Wisconsin

The event runs from 10 AM to 1:30 PM.
This will be my last signing until April. Then I'll be at the Northern Iowa Book Bash!
