Romance authors honor U.S. military personnel on Veterans Day

Read, Write & Remember, an online Veterans Day event, will spotlight romance authors who write about America's military heroes and showcase the non-profits benefiting U.S. service members supported by these authors.

Jacksonville, Fla., November 10, 2014—Starting at 9 a.m. on November 11, 2014, and running through 9 p.m., a collaborative group of romance authors will host Read, Write & Remember (https://www.facebook.com/ReadWriteRemember; #RWRVeterans), an online Veterans Day event hosted on Facebook.

Throughout the day, authors will share information about their books and special Veterans Day fundraising projects, as well as recognizing the non-profit organizations they support through financial donations and volunteerism. They will also share inspirational messages about why they write military romance novels and/or contribute to non-profit groups that benefit the military.

TRACEY COMMENT

The list of participating authors includes Tracey Cramer-Kelly, Diana Cosby, Beverly Ovalle, Caridad Pineiro, Al M. Scott, Emily Mims, Heather Ashby, Christopher Bergeron, Jessica Scott, Adele Downs, Sandy Loyd and Gail Hart. The non-profits beneficiaries include Habitat for Humanity in Grayson County, Texas, Tribute to the Troops, Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, AMVETS, Hope for the Warriors, Project Sanctuary, Wounded Warrior Project and Fisher House Foundation.

“Non-romance readers are often derisive of this genre, but romance authors and readers know this is one of the most supportive, generous writing communities in the world,” says event co-organizer Maria Connor, a published romance author and book marketing consultant. “While it is our hope that this event will raise awareness about the romance genre and military romance authors, our bigger goal is to honor and benefit American veterans.”
