Psst. Dragons are coming...

STEALING HOPE
A DRAGON'S FATED HEART

Beverly Ovalle
Ardent Books

Ari stirred, sniffing the air. It was different again, cleaner. He wondered how many years had passed since his last awakening. He set his head back on his hatch mates back. Raising his head up again, Ari glanced around, his golden eyes whirling with color. He no longer had a desire to sleep.

Ari stood, sniffing and stretching. Looking around he noticed some of his hatch mates also rising.

“It smells different.” Juevatorj rumbled. Her eyes were whirling, sparkling in the darkness of the cave. “It is clean.”

Ari sniffed the air again and rumbled in agreement. Crag stretched his wingspan to full-length. All around wings were stretched and tested. Air moved quickly with a half a dozen of them waking up to the world again.

“Not everyone is waking up.” Ari peered at the ones still curled up together. They blinked at those of them moving around and closed their eyes, not yet interested in the outside world.

Juevatorj bumped heads with Ari. “That’s okay.”

“Yes, that is okay.” A deeper baritone wound through the cave. All of those awake turned their heads toward the sound. “Come my little ones. I will explain.”

Ari, Juevatorj, Crag, Belisa, Hark and Rog lumbered off after the sound of the voice coming from a tunnel that wandered through the cave. At one point they had to swim through the lava. Warmth wrapped around them and they played until they were sharply called to follow. The second voice was a lighter tenor, firm and instant; one they knew better than to disobey. At once, they ceased their games and continued the circuitous path, sniffing at the gold and silver, and collecting bits of colored gems they dug out of the walls.

Ari was the first to stumble out. Rearing back, he was shoved from behind, pushed into the light as his eyes whirled in the too bright sun. He rolled forward, his momentum stopped by a rock. He and his hatch mates chirped in distress, the sudden light harsh against eyes that had spent centuries in darkness, relieved only by the glow of lava.

Deep trilling sounded as they all came to rest outside. Their sire and dam were laughing at their less than graceful exit.

“Juevatorj, come out of the cave.” Their sire spoke and Juevatorj crept out, belly against the ground and head tucked low. “Do not be afraid.” They had learned to trust that voice since before even hatching.

“Use your first lids, protect your eyes.” Their dam spoke.

Ari and his siblings rumbled happily. Her voice was one of their first memories in the egg.

Their sire and dam spoke often to them, comforting them in the shell. Letting them know how wonderful they were, how beautiful and strong. They greeted them upon each awakening.

Ari blinked and discovered that the light was not as bright when he opened his eyes again. He trilled in triumph, arching back and spreading his wings in joy. His siblings too, let forth their joy as they learned to control the brightness.

“Very good, my little ones.” His sire had a look of contentment on his face. “We can once again join in the world. We have been sleeping a very long time.”

Viva Pann Vegas: The MisAdventures of Pann Haggerty

VIVA PANN VEGAS

TAGLINE
Getting plastered at a wedding is the sign a good time has been had, but not when it’s the bride!

BLURB
The fun and games continue as Pann Haggerty travels around America with her ‘average’ Joe on their way to Las Vegas.  This time, Joe thinks he’s the one in charge, and able to handle his beloved quirky English rose.
Apparently not.  Surprises, secrets and wedding bells are in store.  Has Pann given Joe the answer to his big question? Read on in the second MisAdventure of Pann Haggerty.
Laugh at Pann’s antics, thrill to the romance, indulge in copious mugs of tea and try out the delicious recipes! Above all…enjoy.

EXCERPT ONE

“You know, Pann, this hand would look so much nicer with…”
“Don’t go down that route, Joe,” Pann scolded him. “I said I would give you an answer when I knew what it was. Why, are you feeling insecure, Joe?”
The waitress came back, pouring Joe his thick, syrup-like coffee and placing a tall frosted glass of pink milkshake, topped with whipped cream and a fresh strawberry, on the table.
Pann chuckled. What was this, a drink or dessert?
“Yes, I am,” Joe replied eventually, after taking a sip from his mug. “You are the only woman I’ve asked to marry me, and you won’t give me a definite yes or no. It feels like I’m being led around by the short and curlies.”
“Joe,” Pann admonished through gritted teeth. He sounded rather like her, and one certainly did not mention pubic hair in a dining establishment.
“Well what do you expect, Pann? I love you, and you say you love me. I can’t understand why you are dragging this on.”
“Dragging this on?” Her lips thinned with annoyance. “Joel. We are at a diner surrounded by others eating. This isn’t really the place to have this conversation.” She was trying to no avail to keep her voice calm.
“Shall we go back to the van and talk there?” Joe suggested. “I’ll make tea?”
“Sounds better than shivering in the sunshine, I guess.”
As they walked toward the van, Joe placed his arm around her shoulders. Instinctively she snuggled into his warmth, breathing in his fragrant masculine scent.  Pann placed her arm around his waist, and on impulse, her hand covered his jean clad bottom.  As she squeezed it, Pann smiled an impish grin.
“Wrong pocket, Pann.”
“I beg your pardon?” She tilted her head back to look at Joe.
“If you are after my wallet, it’s in the other pocket,” Joe quipped.

EXCERPT TWO
Pandora Haggerty, sorry…Harper sat in the back of the ambulance in a wheelchair all forlorn and feeling decidedly sorry for herself. Her plastered right leg was elevated, and despite Joe’s hand resting on hers comforting her, Pann’s spirits were low. She was jostled several times, wincing as the vehicle rode over several mountains in the road. Perhaps the pain medication was wearing off. Avoiding looking out the window, Pann kept her gaze on Joe’s steadfast one and the gleaming rings of gold that adorned her left hand. Beside her on the floor lay several packages, and from what she could make out, there was a Zimmer frame ready to be constructed.
“A zimmer frame, my arse,” Pann grumbled.
“What was that, darlin’?”
“Just talking out loud,” she murmured.
“Are you in any pain, honey?”
Pann shook her head. “Actually I’m starting to feel like a total prat,” she told him bluntly. “I cannot believe I managed to break my sodding ankle, and now I’m totally reliant on someone else to help me do everything. And I am not using a sodding Zimmer frame. What do they think I am, an elderly geriatric?” Then, turning her head…she noticed a chair behind her.
“That’s not a commode is it?” She asked incredulously in a high squeak. Joe nodded.
“You have to be taking the royal piss,” she exclaimed.
“No, that’s what the commode is for. So that you can—” Joe’s voice broke off.
“No chuffing way am I using a commode.”
“The doctor said you had to stay off that leg. This way you can use the toilet by simply lifting yourself from one chair to another,” he said soothingly.
Pann’s temper finally got the better of her. Humiliation, frustration and that nagging ache from her leg took over her usually sane-ish temperament. She squeezed Joe’s hand digging her nails in, almost breaking the skin. At this point, she really didn’t care if she hurt him or not. She was hurting. Why couldn’t he sympathize? It really wasn’t fair.
Pann sat complacently as Joe wheeled her into the now widened doorway of their motorhome. A strange smell assailed her nostrils. What on earth…could she smell?
“There’s a cat in here,” Pann announced, her eyes darting around the kitchen area. It had been widened for accessibility. As Joe closed the door, she caught a glimpse of a tray.
“What makes you think that?” Joe murmured, putting the brake on. He busied himself by putting the kettle on and preparing a drink for them.
“The litter tray behind me, and the two bowls on a mat just over there,” Pann pointed out. “You do know I still have a cat back in England, even if it is living with Mum now.” She sniffed again, wafting her hand in front of her nose. Several pots of fragrant violets lined the middle of the dining table. She hoped Joe had secured them with Velcro strips.
“Interesting and beautiful flowers, but no matter how many pots of violets you use, there is no cure for the niff of a farting feline,” she told him with a grin, using as many English terms as she could fit in. It was ridiculous, but in a way Joe had diffused her temper by diverting her attention onto something else. “So where is it?”
Joe put two steaming mugs on the table, fetched a plate of digestive biscuits and sat down next to her on the seat.
“Look up,” he suggested.
Pann’s head tilted back. On what had been her bed, two white fluffy paws and a nose with two black splotches were all she could see. All those awful feel sorry for herself feelings disappeared. Joe handed her the tea mug.
“So how did we end up with whats-his-face up there?”
“I have no idea. I picked up the van yesterday after the refit, and well, there he was,” Joe explained.
“He?”
Joe nodded. “I took him to the vet with every intention of handing him to a rescue center, but, I don’t know. There was something about him. It turns out he is a pedigree Ragdoll.”
Pann melted. “The ones that go limp in your arms. They are so soft and fluffy…Oh, Joe. Look at the splotches on his cute little nosey. Bloody hell. Is that the cat?” Her nose wrinkled. “Oh God, that’s foul,” she breathed.
“There is nothing wrong with that cat’s stomach. Apparently, some cats are prone to gas and this is one of them I’m afraid.” Joe chuckled. “So are we gonna keep him? I had him vaccinated, micro chipped and everything.”
“What have you called him?”
“I thought I’d let you name him,” Joe replied with a smile. “It’s taken you out of your bad mood hasn’t it?”
“Yes, you rat, it has.” Pann couldn’t take her eyes off the two fluffy paws and now emerging face over the edge of what had been her bed. “I’m still not using that commode, you know.”

Cold Nights...Hot Reads blog hop

These cold days of winter make me want to grab something hot! A hot blanket, hot cocoa and to curl up in front a a fire with a hot man!

If I can't have that I'll reach for a hot book! 18+ only!

Meet Dan, my favorite cowboy!

excerpt:
His jeans grew even tighter. Dan shifted on his horse, becoming more uncomfortable as he watched her. Fumbling, watching through the binoculars, he unbuttoned his Levi’s, hissing as he scraped against the denim as his cock sprang free. Letting the reins rest across his leg and making sure his horse would stay steady, he grabbed and fisted himself. Pumping, he imagined he was inside the pink glistening pussy of the wannabe cowgirl, he tightened his hand.

Thrusting forward slightly he continued to pump, a large pearl drop slipping out of the end, lubricating his efforts. He could feel his balls tighten as he enlarged, preparing to ejaculate. He must have made a sound; she whirled focusing the camera on him. He groaned and sprayed thick ropes of cum as he got a good look at her boobs and saw her lift her skirt and play with her clit. Full and round, the nipples at attention and visible through her damp top, a luscious shade of pink, darker than the lips of her sex that glistened as she teasingly ran a finger down and around as he stared at her.

Available: Amazon / SCP / AllRomance / B&N / Kobo / Smashwords

Perhaps you prefer your men two at a time? Meet Tine and Brand, my Dragon Shifters.

excerpt:
Annie bucked her hips as Brand thrust in and out. The pinching of her nipples and licking of her clit sent shivers through her, and as her pounding sped up so did Tine’s tongue. Suddenly, a sharp suction caused Annie to cry out. The clasping of her passage set off a pulsing of Brand’s cock, and wet heat exploded deep into her womb. Tine continued to lick and nibble, long slow licks that cleaned the cream that was oozing out of her, nibbles to her clit that caused shivers with each pass of his tongue and teeth.

Her pussy throbbed and her gut clenched, and against all odds Annie found herself aroused again. It was almost too much, but she wanted more, needed more.

Available: Amazon / BPG / AllRomance / B&N / Kobo / Smashwords / ibooks

Or do your dreams take you away?
Meet my sandman Aryne

excerpt:
He licked upward, rimming the indent of her belly button, dipping his tongue inside and pulling back. He ran fingers down the creases of both of her thighs, avoiding where she burned, his hands trailing fire everyplace else they touched. Shivers wracked her body in anticipation.

He stepped away and removed his clothes, pulling his shirt over his head and pushing down his soft, loose trousers to the floor. Leaning over he picked them up, folding them and placing them meticulously on the chair by the door. The moonlight through the window emphasized the starkness of his features, the hard planes of his body, the soft lushness of his lips.

He stepped toward her, golden skin gleaming. His purposeful pace made her heart speed up. Her eyes marked his every movement. He flicked back his dark hair. She licked her lips in anticipation, her throat almost too dry to swallow. Naked, glorious, he reached her and stepped once again between her spread knees, leaned down to take what he knew was his.

Sometimes I'd just prefer a troubled man. An Army veteran, someone I could help. Levi

excerpt:
Levi swallowed, his throat suddenly dry. He held her as she slowly sipped. He couldn’t help but stare. Her skin was golden brown, even toned across her body. Her nipples were a dark raspberry brown, pebbled in the slight breeze. Levi hardened uncomfortably, his erection growing, pressing painfully against the tight denim of his jeans. He wanted a taste of the sweet looking chocolate. But that wouldn’t be right. She needed his help.

“Where did you come from? Where are you staying?” She didn’t answer him, looking at him with her big green eyes as she continued to drink. He continued anyway. “Is your camp site near here? Is there anyone you need me to call?”

She lowered the water bottle from her mouth and stretched, arching back across his arm, raising her breasts within inches of his mouth and groaned. He shook himself to attention. She was injured. He needed to reign in his lust. Her stretch had dislodged the sleeping bag even more. He swallowed. He could see her secrets, bare to his eyes. Her jewel, pink and luscious, peeked out from between her thighs. Her lips were plump, pinker than her nipples with just a hint of chocolate. Levi throbbed, wanting nothing more than to taste her sweetness. “Where does it hurt?” His voice was raspy, his tone deeper as he tried to ignore his arousal.

Love Me Forever ~ Huge Giveaway

I've a new submission going in.

Love Me Forever

I'm keeping my finger's crossed that it's accepted.
Here's just a peek at the unedited version.

Liam nodded. “Shorts would be good. Check the dresser, I should have a comfortable pair in there somewhere. Third drawer down I believe.”
Abby turned around and leaned over to pull open his drawer. He couldn’t help but admire the way her pink sundress fell on her curves. His groin tightened remembering the sight of her in just a thong. He wondered if that’s what she had on under the dress now. His breath quickened a bit imagining running his hands up her soft curvy skin, slipping the dress up to expose her curves.
She straightened up and turned toward him.
“I hope these will work.” She headed toward the bed. “Did you want me to help put them on?”
Liam swallowed and held out a hand. “No, that’s not necessary. I can do it. Just toss them here.”
Abby shrugged. “Okay, no problem. Just let me know if you need me.”
She leaned against his dresser and watched him. He didn’t want her to see him with a hard on. There would be no doubt it was because of her. He had to think fast.
“Could you get me a damp washcloth? I’d like to wash my face real quick.”
Abby straightened up flashing him a smile. “Sure, no problem.”
When she turned away Liam leaned over and slid the shorts over his cast and his other leg and laid back pulling them up as he did. Lifting his ass he slid them up and snapped the elastic waistband in place just as Abby returned. Hopefully the cut off sweats she’d tossed him were thick enough to hide his reaction to her.
“Here you go.” Abby handed him the washcloth, standing there with a towel.
“Thanks.” He eyed the towel, but quickly swiped the cloth over his face. Goosebumps broke out on his arms at the refreshing feel of the coolness on his overheated skin. Liam drew the cloth over his head, enjoying the relief as the pounding in his head subsided.
He looked at Abby and tossed the cloth at her. Liam couldn’t help but smile as Abby jumped. He heard the splat and laughed as it hit her neck.
“Damn it, Liam!” He ducked as the towel came sailing at him. It hit his shoulder, the terrycloth lightly scratching as it slid to his lap. A sense of joy filled him. It had been too long since he had teased Abby. She had always tried to give as good as she got. Liam swiped the towel over his face and set it down.

“Can you bring the chair to this side, Abby? I think it will be easier if I get my cast off the bed first.”

Lightning Strike

Lightning Strike
By Beverly Ovalle
Publisher:  Secret Cravings Publishing

For generations Levi’s family had guarded a sacred glen in the mountains.  Still far from man this isolated area was a favorite spot of his grandfather.  Levi grew up listening to his tales and fell in love without ever having stepped foot there.
Now Levi’s family, led by his grandmother, wanted to sell the land.  With only his grandfather and Levi against it, Levi has to prove to the rest of the family why they needed to continue their guardianship.  Believing in his grandfather’s tales despite himself, Levi went armed with his camera and his well-known expertise behind the lens and headed out for proof.
Providing that proof and protecting the secrets of the glen from the world, Gaia needs to convince Levi to continue that protection.  Daphnaie, the embodiment of his every dream, is sent to show him why, stealing his heart in the process to save her world.
Excerpt:
Levi’s photos always had a way of showing truths the naked eye couldn’t see. That was one of the reasons both of his grandparents had agreed to him coming here. He had started photography when he was a medic in the Army, taking photos of the aftermath of Iraqi Freedom. Unable to stomach more death and destruction, and desperately needing a peace he couldn’t find, he finished his enlistment. He published the photography that exposed so much of the war, earning almost instant fame. But it didn’t bring him peace. He turned to photographing nature around the world, his treks into the wilds of the world bringing him a measure of what he sought.

He couldn’t wait to see the photo. Wanting to capture the aftermath of the strike, he looked through the lens in preparation for another shot. He thought he saw movement. He straightened up, no longer looking through the lens. Levi saw a figure fall, he swore from the damaged bark of the tree itself. He hadn’t seen anyone in the tree, but then again he hadn’t been paying attention to anything but the deadly beauty of nature.

Moving swiftly to the base of the tree, he found a crumpled heap in the shape of a person. Reaching for the slight arm sticking out from the pile of decaying and burnt leaves, Levi knelt, feeling for a pulse. A faint heartbeat reassured him that the person was alive. Levi brushed away the fallen leaves that surrounded the figure. To his surprise it was a young woman and she was naked. Stunned, Levi stared at her for a moment. His heartbeat quickened. He had seen no evidence of anyone else around. In any case, this was private property as far as the eye could see. From the mountains to the prairie, his family called this land theirs even if none of them lived there any longer.
Shaking sense back into his head, Levi took out his cellphone to make an emergency call, wishing he had brought his satellite phone. The connection was bad this far into the mountains. Getting a recording, he tried giving his location, hoping his message got through and help was on its way. Hanging up, he looked at her, wondering what she was doing there.

Levi thought the lightning had burned her clothes away, though there was really no evidence of clothing to begin with. She couldn't have just been out in the woods with nothing on. Climbing trees no less! Her skin looked as if it had been in contact with fire, yet she herself was not burned, just slightly pink, most of the damage to her hair, which looked as if it had burned around the edges.
The lightning strike had been different, but then so had the storm. Both had seemed almost alive, deliberate. Maybe his grandpa had been right after all.
Leaving her for a moment, Levi took his sleeping bag from his knapsack and laid it out beyond the fire damaged grass, making sure to unzip it to be able to put her in it. Checking her limbs, he didn’t feel any breaks. He tried not to notice how shapely those limbs were.
Ignoring his libido, Levi checked her over as he had been trained. It didn’t matter how long he had been away from the battlefield, Levi’s instincts kicked in, checking the vitals of the wounded woman in front of him. It was usually a man though, his thoughts drifting to the images he’d rather forget. Forcibly bringing his mind back to the present, Levi continued his assessment. She needed him now. An undressed female was bound to present him unexpected problems. An attractive female, as this little bundle was, presented a whole different problem that was knocking insistently at the buttons of his 501’s.

Triple D Dude Ranch ~ Beverly Ovalle ~ Blog Tour

Triple D Dude Ranch
By Beverly Ovalle
Published by Secret Cravings Publishing
October 4, 2014

Blurb:

Blaire is a freelance photographer on assignment. She is heading home to Texas, armed with her camera to do a photo feature for the Tribune. Taking photos of the dude ranch, she gets an eyeful of an uninhibited cowboy through her lens. The summer heat of Texas has nothing on the heat he generates in her.
Dan was expecting a photographer but not the sexy urban cowgirl that arrived. He knew it was hot out, he just hadn’t expected the hot and sexy woman to make him burn the minute he caught sight of her. One look and he had to quench this fire inside.
One touch between Dan and Blaire sparks a wildfire that burns hotter than the Texas summer and is just as hard to put out.

Graduation had her moving to Chicago. After a couple of years of living and working there, she realized that Chicago couldn’t give her the life she thought she’d wanted. What she wanted was right here in Texas, so when she got this assignment she packed her bags, subletted her apartment, and headed home.
The GPS announced she was there. Looking around, Blaire spotted the driveway; it was hard to miss. The wrought iron arch over the drive simply proclaimed Triple D Dude Ranch. She frowned. The drive was just as dusty as the road and there was not a hotel in sight.
Sighing, Blaire put on her signal and pulled over. She stopped and grabbed her camera. A picture of the arch, with the wrought iron words showcasing the name, would be a perfect shot. Blaire opened her door and groaned as the leather made a sucking sound as she peeled herself off. Maybe she shouldn’t have shucked her panties at that last stop. She hadn’t thought about peeling herself off the leather seats, only how infernally hot the day was. Stepping out, she looked both ways before she minced to the opposite side of the road. The heels of the unfamiliar and recently purchased cowboy boots and the long drive had made her a bit wobbly.
Blaire lifted her camera, uncovering the lens and holding the cap in her hand. No dust on the lens, she was glad to see. It wouldn’t have surprised her at all if there were. She felt like every crevice of her body had grit in it. Her cute Western outfit might never be the same. She felt wilted from head to toe. Lining up the arch in her lens, Blaire cursed as she dropped the lens cap on the ground. One of these days she’d remember to attach it with the string to the camera itself.
“Damn it!” Bending over from the waist, she picked up the cap from the ground; after all, it was a good opportunity to do one of her daily stretches. Blaire tucked it in the pocket on the front of her cute little denim skirt as she stood, like she should have in the first place.
Lining up the arch once again, Blaire could see that the dust continued, the drive a little smoother than the road coming in. Shaking her head, she snapped a picture. Moving around, she tried to capture it from different angles. She could always delete the ones that didn’t work.
Finishing, Blaire decided she’d had enough of the arch. There had to be at least one good one. She started back to the car when she heard a noise and whirled around.
Her breath caught and she instinctively lifted the camera for a shot. Holy hotness! That was          a real cowboy. Her eyes widened as she looked through the lens, quickly snapping a picture.

 Excerpt 2 18+

She was in a white bandana halter from what he could see. Tied at her nape and waist, he could see her smooth toned back. Her hair was tied up in a pink bandana and Dan wondered how long it was. Her short denim cut off skirt gave just a peek at toned, heart shaped butt cheeks. His gaze traveled lower and he had to stifle a laugh. She had on four-inch spiked cowboy boots. Pink, no less.
Dan’s breath caught as she cursed and leaned over to pick something up off the ground. He had to wonder if she knew he was there. She took a deep breath and leaned over from her waist. He swallowed, mouth suddenly dry. Raising his binoculars he confirmed what he thought. No panties; not even the teasing peek of a thong. As she bent he had a perfect view of her ass and pussy. His cock grew, throbbing to come out and play. She either thought it was too hot for panties, or she liked to go commando. Either way Dan was appreciative.
She stretched further, spreading her legs slightly. Dan wanted to run his hands over the curve of her ass and sink into the delicate pink folds he was staring at. He stifled a grown. Her lips spread as she arched down with a groan, giving him an unrestricted view of her snatch, daring him to fill it. Her clit, which was nestled there, peeked out like it wanted to be noticed. Boy did he notice!
Dan sat there on his horse, cock aching as she moved. She twisted and turned with grace, giving Dan an eyeful. She paid no attention to her surroundings as she looked through the lens taking shots. Dan loved curves and she had them in spades. Not only did she have a world class ass and a pussy that was just begging to be fucked, but the bandana top she wore barely covered her. White, it was damp and clung to her breasts showcasing her pink nipples through the fabric. So large, they had to be triple-D’s. He swallowed.
Dan realized Mike’s warped sense of humor was why he said he had the perfect photographer. Shaking his head at Mike’s choice Dan grinned. Sending this particular bombshell with triple-D boobs to the Triple D Dude Ranch was right up his alley. Watching them quiver as she moved, Dan wanted nothing more than to latch on and suckle them until her nipples hardened and stood out. Dan groaned watching her, knowing he would have to call and thank Mike.
