I've been in a bit of a slump. I'm stuck on my dragon story, Finding Faith. I'm stuck on my erotic short, Triple D: Enticed by the Cowboy. So... I went into my manuscript file to see what caught my eye. I settled on a bit called 'the old lady'. LOL. I think I should call it, 'I'm not old, dammit!' I read it, laughed and started writing again. From the story line so far, I must have been pissed at my husband. I killed him off! 28 years of marriage and being a writer will do that I guess.
Better than arsenic or a bat when he's sleeping or any of the real ways to bump him off!
So, I'm not sure where this will lead. A middle aged... cough cough... romance probably. Dead husbands, meddling family, even if they mean well, and who knows? maybe a ghost! No clue where it's headed, but at least I'm writing again! I moved my desk up into a corner in the bedroom. Writing in the dining room wasn't working with my daughter and granddaughter now living with us. But wrapped in pajamas and finally comfortable and able to reach my computer even in the middle of the night to write will do wonders! I write when I'm happy I guess, and comfortable.
Since my husband helped me get my desk situated, I wouldn't bump him off now, but since I already did... :) I'm going with it! If I look, I probably have more bits like that. I have a temper and he sets it off without even meaning to poor guy! So I put it down in words and let it go. We don't fight a lot, just snipe at each other for a bit and settle back down. When I hear my mother coming out of my mouth, I shut up, LOL.
So, catch up on some of my books, I will be putting something out still this year, though my schedule was railroaded with the girls moving back home. I'm too close to the end on at least three books to not get at least one out. So your guess is as good as mine which one it will be!
Here is the victim of my paper crime, lol. Pirate day at Red Lobster.
So, if you are in West Bend WI on Sept. 23rd visit me!
Threshold’s Showcase of Authors IV being held on Saturday, September 23rd at the Lawrence and Vivian Stockhausen center, 2380 West Washington Street, West Bend, Wisconsin

I'm rewriting A Saint's Salvation hoping to have it out later this year. The original story only was told from Saint's point of view. Now I'm adding Angel's. Here's a snippet of her world. Unedited so bear with me!
Angel cursed the dust that seem to cover every inch of sick bay. She’d like one day where the first thing she didn’t do was have to clean up just to get everything all dirty again. There was a line sick bay, as usual. Minor injuries, sometimes the result of horseplay and sometimes they were more serious.
There were three corpsman that served on this little out-of-the-way base in Helmand province. She was one of the few women on the base and had actually been the first one to arrive. When she had finally convinced her parents that the Navy was her choice placating them with the fact that she was going into the medical field, Angel had no idea she’d end up in a combat zone.
She’d treated more shrapnel and gunshot wounds than she’d ever dreamed she would. She was proud to be one of the first women in combat, at least officially. There had been reports of women dying in combat since Desert Storm. The American people had turned a blind eye and ignored those deaths, pretending women hadn’t been out in front for decades. To be one of the first officially assigned to a combat zone was an empty honor.
Angel sighed as she heard gunshots. Hopefully they would not result in any wounds. She or one of the other corpsman would be called if necessary. The Navy corpsman had little to do with the scuffles around the perimeter of the base other than patching up the Marines.
She looked around sick bay. It was as clean as it was going to get. It was time to start calling in the first of the injured. She checked the sign in sheet and glanced at the waiting room. She’d go on order unless there was blood.
“Private Schuster, follow me.”
One Marine stood up and sheepishly followed her, limping as he walked. Great, she thought, this one was probably injured lifting weights. Rolling her eyes she gestured towards the examining room. Hardheaded every last Marine on the base had nothing better to do than lift weights and play pranks. This one had probably done both. Shaking her head Angel headed into the room behind him.
She heard the radio crackle as she entered. It was never silent. Sick bay kept it going just in case they were needed. There wasn’t always a Marine around to send to run to get a corpsman in case of a serious injury. The sound of gunshots echoed as a Marine screamed into the open channel.
Love Me Forever Staff Sergeant Liam McGregor doesn’t know what hit him. Sent home to recuperate from an IED blast, Liam is stuck in a wheelchair and is sentenced to surgery and physical therapy before he can walk again.
A physical therapist, Abby Worth has loved Liam McGregor since she first noticed boys. It’s too bad he’s her brother’s best friend. She has always been firmly put in the baby sister zone no matter how hard she tried to catch his eye.
Liam sees Abby and when she goes home with him doesn’t know how he can keep his hands off of her. She’s now old enough to touch and the fire in his blood and the combination of pain killers make him lose control. Abby can’t help but take what she’s always wanted.
Together they have to overcome their fear of being left behind to grab what they have always wanted-each other.

BOOK SYNOPSIS
Corporal Nicholas 'Saint' Santiago needs to go home to reclaim the man he used to be. To be the man he was before Operation Enduring Freedom slowly hardened his heart. He needs to reconnect to the values and the reasons he is doing what he does. Saint also needs to try to forget the courageous woman he knows was meant to be his.
Petty Officer Angelina Jones' life changed the moment Saint saved her life. She survived the blast but now has to deal with the fact that she will never be whole. Knowing Saint received a 'Dear John' letter, Angelina has no intention of being his rebound romance. She needs to be loved for herself. She needs to forget about the one man she knows was meant to be hers.
They each try to find someone to help them forget.
But what does fate have planned for them?
Nick quickly took advantage, pressing his hand deeper as he raised her up, her ass on his forearm. Angelina squirmed, rubbing against him. Nick bent and sucked a nipple into his mouth, teasing it through the silk. He slid a finger in and out of her heat, lightly rubbing her clit with his thumb. Angelina moaned and tightened around his finger. Pressing her close against him, Nick increased his thrusts. Nick bit her nipple and was rewarded with a cry as Angelina clamped down, drenching his hand as she came apart in his arms.
She placed her head against his shoulder, shivers running through her while her arms and legs tightened around him. Nick pulled his hand free from her warmth and licked his fingers clean, making smacking noises as he did.
“Pig.” It was so low Nick barely heard the comment. Nick chuckled as Angelina giggled in his arms.
“Did you want another glass of champagne?” Angelina shook her head and squirmed against him. Nick squeezed her to him, enjoying the feel of her, despite the tightness in his groin. “Are you ready for dinner? Or shall we just head straight to dessert?”
CHARACTER BIOS
Corporal Nicholas ‘Saint’ Santiago
Saint is serving in Afghanistan when his heart is broken over a ‘Dear John’ letter. Everything seems to get worse at that point. Normally a happy go lucky kind of guy he seems to have lost his optimistic view of life. The only thing that stirs his interest is ‘Doc’ a female medic assigned to the FOB. Not wanting anymore entanglements, he ignores her. He knows that he needs to go home to find the place he belongs and bring back the man he was.
Angelina ‘Doc’ Jones
She had the hots for Santiago but everyone knew he’d been dumped. Doc didn’t want to be the rebound. She joined and became a corpsman against her parent’s wishes, knowing just that she had to serve. When the grenade changed her life, she needed reassurance and someone to love her despite her disability.
AUTHOR BIO
Beverly Ovalle dabbled with writing on and off for years when her best friend finally dared her to submit a story to a writing contest. Beverly decided she had nothing to lose and since she’d always wanted to be an author sent it in and agonized for months waiting to hear back. Contract in hand she has never looked back.
Beverly has been obsessed with dragons and romance since she was a young girl, collecting dragon books and reading everything she could find on them even down to the care of real life dragons. She’s always been slightly panicked that the world as we know it will end, so has prepped for it, haunting survivalist pages and prepper projects she felt she needed in the event SHTF.
An avid fan of all romance, Beverly’s goal is to share her love of the written word and write the hot and erotic romances that she enjoys. She writes what she loves to read and it was only a matter of time before her obsessions crept into her writing for her to share. She hopes you enjoy her tales as much as she loves writing them.
A Navy Veteran, Beverly has traveled around the world and the United States enabling her to bring her settings to life, meeting and marrying her husband of twenty five years along the way for her own romance. Reading romances since the fourth grade she’s followed as the genre changed and spread into the vast cornucopia of romance offered today.

Wow! This is now one of my better guilty pleasure fantasies. . . Beverly Ovalle never fails to amaze me with her sexy stories, whether it be Cowboy, Military, or Paranormal. Short and sizzling HOT read.
I'm keeping my finger's crossed that it's accepted.
Here's just a peek at the unedited version. ***
Liam nodded. “Shorts would be good. Check
the dresser, I should have a comfortable pair in there somewhere. Third drawer
down I believe.”
Abby turned around and leaned over to pull
open his drawer. He couldn’t help but admire the way her pink sundress fell on
her curves. His groin tightened remembering the sight of her in just a thong.
He wondered if that’s what she had on under the dress now. His breath quickened
a bit imagining running his hands up her soft curvy skin, slipping the dress up
to expose her curves.
She straightened up and turned toward him.
“I hope these will work.” She headed
toward the bed. “Did you want me to help put them on?”
Liam swallowed and held out a hand. “No,
that’s not necessary. I can do it. Just toss them here.”
Abby shrugged. “Okay, no problem. Just let
me know if you need me.”
She leaned against his dresser and watched
him. He didn’t want her to see him with a hard on. There would be no doubt it
was because of her. He had to think fast.
“Could you get me a damp washcloth? I’d
like to wash my face real quick.”
Abby straightened up flashing him a smile.
“Sure, no problem.”
When she turned away Liam leaned over and
slid the shorts over his cast and his other leg and laid back pulling them up
as he did. Lifting his ass he slid them up and snapped the elastic waistband in
place just as Abby returned. Hopefully the cut off sweats she’d tossed him were
thick enough to hide his reaction to her.
“Here you go.” Abby handed him the
washcloth, standing there with a towel.
“Thanks.” He eyed the towel, but quickly
swiped the cloth over his face. Goosebumps broke out on his arms at the
refreshing feel of the coolness on his overheated skin. Liam drew the cloth
over his head, enjoying the relief as the pounding in his head subsided.
He looked at Abby and tossed the cloth at
her. Liam couldn’t help but smile as Abby jumped. He heard the splat and laughed
as it hit her neck.
“Damn it, Liam!” He ducked as the towel
came sailing at him. It hit his shoulder, the terrycloth lightly scratching as
it slid to his lap. A sense of joy filled him. It had been too long since he
had teased Abby. She had always tried to give as good as she got. Liam swiped
the towel over his face and set it down.
“Can you bring the chair to this side,
Abby? I think it will be easier if I get my cast off the bed first.”

Love is Never Past Tense Trilogy by Janna Yeshanova
Dragons’ Mate By Beverly Ovalle Published: Boroughs Publishing Group
They had been searching for their mate, but when they find her she is traumatized and scared to be around strange men. They must get her to accept them before they reveal their true natures. Will their love be strong enough to break down her barriers? Could she truly be destined to love two dragons?
Today Annie’s dragons will shift and fulfill her every desire, which means a fiery threesome—and true love.
Excerpt:
They
slowly stared her down, gold and green eyes unblinking. Grrr, dragons. Sometimes she could tell they thought they were boss.
Tine
suddenly leapt up and licked her from head to toe. Ew. Brand followed suit and licked her too, evidently not to be outdone.
Ugh. Now she was wet and sticky all over. Glaring at them, she stripped and
dove into the pond. The sensation was decadent, the movement of the warm water
caressing her hypersensitive body. Then the water swirled behind her and she
recognized the dragons had followed her in.
“Get
out!” she cried, surfacing. She did not want to share. The boys were the reason
she needed to rinse off in the first place.
Of
course they didn’t listen; they loved to play like this. Brand came up beneath
her,
positioning
himself so that Annie was straddling his snout, and he lifted her up out of the
water atop his head. After the dream she’d had, her flesh was tingling and
reactive, and she had a flash of panic. That supple dragonskin kindled heat
better left unexplored, and she was just about to dismount when Tine leapt up
and nudged her forward, tumbling her off and dumping her headfirst into the
water. From the noises, she swore both dragons were laughing. Then she thought
she heard, It is time.
I can't believe A Saint's Salvation has been out for a year! It release two weeks early that scheduled surprising me. But what a wonderful surprise it was.
Fiction it is, but it dealt with emotions of someone near and dear to me. The only way I could express it was through words. I hope you take this time to enjoy it. A Saint's Salvation is so far, my favorite book to have written. At some point I'm sure it will be replaced in my heart, but the time is not now.

What is so fascinating about cowboys? I wish I could say. Could it be that they exemplify the image of the Old West? Europe had knights in shining armor, America has heroes in stetsons and boots. Wild and willing to tame the land and the ladies. Master of all they survey. Able to help and brave enough to save the day (or the cow - that was their job after all!)
A jack of all trades, the cowboy could survive on his own. Perhaps that is his appeal? A man's man and a ladies man too. They could and did any job put in front of them. Wicked hot from all of the work they performed, gentle with children and animals.
I know this isn't all true, but when I think of cowboys that is what goes through my mind. So, I had to write about one. Enjoy!

Blurb:
Blaire is a freelance photographer on assignment. She is
heading home to Texas, armed with her camera to do a photo feature for the
Tribune. Taking photos of the dude ranch, she gets an eyeful of an uninhibited
cowboy through her lens. The summer heat of Texas has nothing on the heat he
generates in her.
Dan was expecting a photographer but not the sexy urban
cowgirl that arrived. He knew it was hot out, he just hadn’t expected the hot
and sexy woman to make him burn the minute he caught sight of her. One look and
he had to quench this fire inside.
One touch between Dan and Blaire sparks a wildfire that
burns hotter than the Texas summer and is just as hard to put out.
Excerpt:
She was
in a white bandana halter from what he could see. Tied at her nape and waist,
he could see her smooth toned back. Her hair was tied up in a pink bandana and
Dan wondered how long it was. Her short denim cut off skirt gave just a peek at
toned, heart shaped butt cheeks. His gaze traveled lower and he had to stifle a
laugh. She had on four-inch spiked cowboy boots. Pink, no less.
Dan’s
breath caught as she cursed and leaned over to pick something up off the
ground. He had to wonder if she knew he was there. She took a deep breath and
leaned over from her waist. He swallowed, mouth suddenly dry. Raising his
binoculars he confirmed what he thought. No panties; not even the teasing peek
of a thong. As she bent he had a perfect view of her ass and pussy. His cock
grew, throbbing to come out and play. She either thought it was too hot for
panties, or she liked to go commando. Either way Dan was appreciative.
She
stretched further, spreading her legs slightly. Dan wanted to run his hands
over the curve of her ass and sink into the delicate pink folds he was staring
at. He stifled a grown. Her lips spread as she arched down with a groan, giving
him an unrestricted view of her snatch, daring him to fill it. Her clit, which
was nestled there, peeked out like it wanted to be noticed. Boy did he notice!
Dan sat
there on his horse, cock aching as she moved. She twisted and turned with
grace, giving Dan an eyeful. She paid no attention to her surroundings as she
looked through the lens taking shots. Dan loved curves and she had them in
spades. Not only did she have a world class ass and a pussy that was just
begging to be fucked, but the bandana top she wore barely covered her. White,
it was damp and clung to her breasts showcasing her pink nipples through the fabric.
So large, they had to be triple-D’s. He swallowed.
Dan
realized Mike’s warped sense of humor was why he said he had the perfect
photographer. Shaking his head at Mike’s choice Dan grinned. Sending this
particular bombshell with triple-D boobs to the Triple D Dude Ranch was right
up his alley. Watching them quiver as she moved, Dan wanted nothing more than
to latch on and suckle them until her nipples hardened and stood out. Dan
groaned watching her, knowing he would have to call and thank Mike.
His jeans
grew even tighter. Dan shifted on his horse, becoming more uncomfortable as he
watched her. Fumbling, watching through the binoculars, he unbuttoned his Levi’s,
hissing as he scraped against the denim as his cock sprang free. Letting the
reins rest across his leg and making sure his horse would stay steady, he
grabbed and fisted himself. Pumping, he imagined he was inside the pink
glistening pussy of the wannabe cowgirl, he tightened his hand.

Here's a sneak peek and remember, it's just a rough draft!
Mom left to go to school. She wanted to become a
veterinarian. He’d visit her over the summer sometimes then head back home. She
seemed so much happier. He knew she loved him, but it made him sad that he
wasn’t enough to make her happy. He talked about it with his dad and they both
came to terms with it. His dad had felt the same way. At least they’d had each
other.
It was one of the reasons he’d never approached Abby. She’d
been too young for him with her whole life ahead of her. He heard all about her
plans from Hank. He wouldn’t derail her plans, she’d only end up resenting him
like his mother had. Not to mention the eight years between them and the fact
that she was the baby sister of his best friend made any type of relationship
impossible to imagine.
“Here you go, Staff Sergeant.” The woman opened a folder and
pulled a sheaf of papers off of the printer and put them inside before handing
it to him. “Nice to see you’re able to leave. Remember to call if you have any
questions.”
“Thank you.” He turned and headed back to his dad. He
laughed to himself. A couple of the nurses were eyeing up his father who
continued to peruse the latest advice from Cosmos, oblivious to their interest.
“Hey, old man, I’m ready to go.”
His dad looked up and closed the magazine, setting it down
on the table next to him.
“Ready to go home?” Liam nodded. “Good. Me too. Started to
feel like prey sitting here.”
He flashed a grin at the nurses as he left while Liam choked
a laugh back. Guess his dad was fully aware of the glances his way. He supposed
that at forty nine, he wasn’t that old. It seemed odd to think of him that way,
though after his mom left there had been plenty of women flocking around.
Liam shook his head. No matter how old he was, he wasn’t
going there. This was, after all, his dad.
“I’ll go get the
truck. Wait here.” His dad strolled out, leaving him sitting by the entrance.
He wouldn’t be able to get his chair close to the truck door where his dad was
currently parked. He watched as he climbed in and drove around to the front of
the hospital to load him up.
Liam wheeled out. Sitting in his wheel chair he realized
that this was not going to be fun. He glanced at his dad and saw the same
thoughts flit across his face.
“I wrangle horses and cows, throw hay bales. I should be
able to lift your scrawny ass in.”
Liam laughed. He was as large as his dad. Just as tall,
though not as stocky.
